Familiar face: Richmond Community Schools tabs Kocher's replacement as head football coach
Sean Misko, 35, acted as an interim coach in 2020 while former coach John Kocher battled cancer.

The Richmond football team will have a new identity this fall.
Richmond Community Schools approved the hiring of new head coach Sean Misko during Monday night's school board meeting.
Misko, 35, replaces John Kocher, who led the Blue Devils for 10 seasons before losing his battle with cancer on March 3.
"We're going to look to carry on John's legacy, but I'm excited to put my own spin on things," said Misko, a 2004 RHS graduate. "We're going to look less flashy and more tougher."
Misko acted as the interim coach while Kocher was in and out of the hospital throughout the 2020 season. Kocher and Misko combined to lead the Blue Devils to only a 3-5 record, but they did win their Round 1 playoff game against Luthern North, 38-7.
Kocher's offense was known for high-flying passes and getting Richmond's top athletes into open space to make plays. Misko, a former lineman, will have the Blue Devils playing a more smashmouth style.
