Bihar govt. files affidavit regarding COVID 19 treatment facility

Patna, May 25 (UNI) Elaborating about the treatment facilities including chain of treatment centres for COVID 19 patients, Bihar government today apprised the court that a Covid Task Force has been created with Doctors from various streams like testing, management and prevention as its members regularly provide suggestions for short term, intermediate and long term measures to combat the pandemic.

Following the direction of the Patna High Court, Additional Health Chief Secretary, Pratyaya Amrit filed an affidavit before the court during the day in connection with the case related to COVID-19 and apprised the court about the status of the health care centres across the state.

Mr Pratyay, through the affidavit, stated that most of the centres were well equipped with Oxygen beds and at higher centre with ICU beds also. He said that the number of patients has decreased in most of the centres including VIMS, Pawapuri, JMCH, Bettiah and JKTMCH, Madhepura.

He further stated that to ramp up the RTPCR tests RTPCR labs have been established in every district. During the peak of the pandemic test reports were delayed primarily because of an increase in number of test and largescale infection of employees related to testing and reporting work. Presently monitoring was being done to ensure that RTPCR reports are made available within 36 to 48 hours of the test.
