As the filmmaker Karan Johar on Tuesday rang in his 49th birthday, several B-town celebrities and his friends like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, among others penned birthday wishes for him on social media.
Sharing a throwback black and white picture of herself with Karan on Instagram, Kareena wrote, Happy Birthday, Kjo… I (love) You. While Anushka took to her Instagram stories and wrote, Happy birthday Karan! Wishing you love and happiness always.
Other actors like Ananya Panday, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandes, Malaika Arora among others also took to their Instagram stories and posted a wish for the filmmaker.

Actor Kajol, whose friendship with Karan goes back a long time, also wished him by sharing a picture of them on Instagram Stories. She wrote, This is us, and always will be… Wish you a fantastically fabulous year ahead. It’s gotta be better than the one we left behind @karanjohar.
Among his film industry friends, Ekta Kapoor wrote, U r my karmic soul cousin ! N whenever we meet it’s like we have started off from there itself ! Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s last directorial was Netflix anthology Ghost Stories in which he helmed one of the shorts starring Janhvi Kapoor. In films, his last directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which released in 2016. He was scheduled to start work last year on a period drama, Takht. However, it had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. His upcoming productions include Brahmastra, Sooryavanshi and Liger.

Besides, Karan Johar is a doting father to twins – Yash and Roohi. He became a parent via surrogacy in 2017.
