|

According to a price notice from state-owned fuel retailers, the price of petrol has increased by 23 paise per litre and the price of diesel has increased by 25 paise per litre. After remaining unchanged for a day, petrol and diesel prices were raised again on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, reaching new highs across the region.

After fuel prices were increased again on Tuesday, diesel prices in the national capital reached 84 cents per litre, while petrol prices in Mumbai approached 100 cents per litre.

Auto fuel prices have been raised 13 times this month following oil marketing companies (OMCs) resumed price revisions after an 18-day pause that coincided with key state assembly elections. In New Delhi, the price of petrol has risen by Rs 3.04 per litre and the price of diesel has risen by Rs 3.59 during this period.

In many cities in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, rates had already surpassed the 100-mark, and with the latest rise, the price in Mumbai was creeping closer to that amount.

Brent crude futures were up 14 cents (0.2%) at $68.60 a barrel by 0400 GMT, after rising 3% the day before.
