Now, Lionsgate is back on board with the movie again, according to The Wrap.

The studio has re-acquired the rights to distribute the action thriller movie in North America, Latin America, the UK and India.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis: “The Plane will star Butler as commercial pilot Ray Torrance, who, after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in a war zone, finds himself caught between the agendas of multiple militias that are planning to take the plane and its passengers hostage.”

Production on The Plane is expected to begin this summer in Puerto Rico.

The Plane will be directed by Jean-François Richet and written by JP Davis and Charles Cumming, based on the book by the latter.
