COVID-19: Telangana government to resume second dose of vaccination

Hyderabad: Prime Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on Monday instructed government officials to restart the vaccination program in Telangana. Those who have already completed the first dose and are eligible for the second dose should go to the nearest vaccination center of the government, said the director of the state’s public health department, dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, said.

On Monday, KCR also instructed government officials to implement a dual strategy to continue their fever survey, distribute and sharpen medical equipment. He also wanted to increase the number of rapid antigen test kits in all the medical centers.

We have to learn from the good experiences and there is nothing wrong with that, ”the minister said. he added that from Tuesday the number of kits should be increased, and if necessary, the manufacturers should be asked to increase production and supply.

The Prime Minister also suggested that special beds should be created against the background of the spread of black fungal disease and that the necessary medicines should be arranged in the state immediately. ‘Continue the fever survey and the provision of medical kits to those in need, as the program is producing good results. At the same time, do not deny tests to the Corona suspected people. “There should be no restrictions on the number of tests,” he told officials.

Following the decision to increase the tests, KCR ordered that the Rapid Antigen test kits be increased to 50 lakh in the state. The CM ordered the director of health, Srinivas Rao, to immediately hold a teleconference with the DMHOs and inquire about the recruitment, availability of medicines and the facilities in the hospitals. He also instructed the director of the department of health services to get report on it.

The prime minister also instructed state finance minister Harish Rao to review departments such as police, medical and health, whose spending has increased as a result of the COVID-19 restriction. He asked Harish Rao to increase the budget of both departments and also to identify the departments whose expenses are being reduced due to the closure.

The CM also proposed that all the beds should be converted into oxygen beds, and also proposed measures to increase the oxygen production in the state to 600 tons. KCR also asked Corona Task Force Team Chairman and IT Minister KT Rama Rao to speak with vaccine manufacturers to give the state the required vaccinations to administer the second dose to the people in large numbers in the is waiting.
