- They beat a very strong India team away in both the T20s and ODIs while doing the same to Pakistan at home.
- Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, Anrich Nortje and Rassie van der Dussen will be contesting for the men's cricketer of the year award after an ordinary season for the men's national team.
The Proteas women's team is set to be handsomely rewarded for a stellar 2020/21 season as they led the way for the nominations for the Cricket South Africa Awards that'll take place on 31 May.
Hilton Moreeng's team had an unforgettable season when they did the limited-overs double against India away while also doing the same against Pakistan at home.
Shabnim Ismail, Sune Luus, Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee are the quartet of Proteas women's players who will be vying for the Women's cricketer of the year award.
The men's national team has had a patchy season and it has shown in their nominations for the men's cricketer of the year.
Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, Anrich Nortje and Rassie van der Dussen are the four players vying for the main men's award.
