McLaren Port Huron is loosening visiting restrictions starting today in response to falling COVID-19 rates in the community and increasing rates of vaccinations among staff and residents.
Most visitation restrictions will be lifted. New guidelines include:
- Visitation hours are from noon to 6 p.m.
- No visitors are allowed for patients with pending or positive COVID-19 tests, including in the Emergency Room.
- Visitors must be over age 18.
- Visitors should remain with the patient in their room, unless asked otherwise by the clinical team.
- All visitors will be screened when entering the hospital to verify they do not have signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
- Visitors must wear a mask at all times and should remain with the patient, unless asked otherwise by the clinical team.
Other exceptions or clarifications include:
- Mental Health: Visiting hours are Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m.; one visitor per patient is allowed. In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are still required for everyone in the health care setting to provide a safe environment for patients with compromised immune systems.
