WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura reveals whom he wants to face in his retirement match: The ‘King of Strong Style’ Shinsuke Nakamura has had one of the most decorated and ravishing careers in pro wrestling history. From NJPW to WWE, Shinsuke has come a long way but thinks that he still has a lot to achieve in WWE.
Recently, the Japanese Superstar spoke to Renee Paquette on her show Oral Sessions, where he discussed his current run and what he has in his basket for the future. The conversation started with discussing his first IWGP Heavyweight Championship title, which he won in 2003. At the time of the title victory, Shinsuke was a mere 23, and it was something really gigantic in his young pro wrestling career. Below is what he said for his championship win,
“Actually, I didn’t have no experience. I just needed to do what they wanted. I felt I didn’t have any friends in the company.”
Shinsuke has his eyes on two of New Japan’s top stars
As the conversation moved forward, the two discussed some of the top stars of NJPW- Sazuchika Okada and Kota Ibushi. Shinsuke firmly believes that these two budding names in the NJPW circuit have all the potential to be future stars. Here is what he had to say about the two stars.
“I think still Okada,” Nakamura stated on which superstars are New Japan’s top prospects. “Kota Ibushi, he’s going to be a bigger star. Finally, he’s trying to show his responsibility.”
Nakamura reveals whom he wants to face in the last match of his career
Retirement is something Nakamura is not thinking yet. He feels he has still a lot to prove and do in WWE, and there are some targets he wants to achieve in WWE. However, during the interview, both he and Renee created a fantasy booking match for who his final opponent would be when he approaches his retirement.
Without giving much of a thought to who he wants to face in his retirement match, Shinsuke named his former IWGP tag team partner “The Ace” Hiroshi Tanahashi. Shinsuke revealed,
“I wanna wrestle Tanahashi again,” also, I wanna wrestle a rising star, like a new guy. I don’t know yet.”
