Just for fun. What is your absolute favorite exercise? You could like it for any number of reasons: a natural aptitude performing it, respect for the challenge, the aesthetics it contributes to, functional strength it provides, or anything else. But the idea is that you actually like it and enjoy the thought of doing it rather than begrudging it as a chore.
Mine is the deadlift, hands down (lol). Something is very appealing to me about the maximal nature of it: the demands it places on your whole body and the conditioning to that which it provides in consequence, the psychological hurdle and reward of overcoming the lift with the greatest possible load (potential exception being squats, for some, to which much of this same reasoning applies anyway), the way it develops strength and size for the entire back half of the body's musculature, the way it like no other lift both requires and builds the grip.
I love the deadlift and hope to be performing it my whole life. My best moment in all my years in the gym was finally pulling 405 for the first time; seeing stars, setting the bar down and feeling like I could fly.
Honorable mention and second favorite: bench press. No intention to hate on anyone else's favorite or denounce any other exercise. What's your favorite and why?

I just recently [6ish weeks] started deadlifting again. So right now. By far the deadlift.
For the reasons you stated. The demands it requires. The actual strength and mental toughness it takes. You rarely see guys deadlifting [bc it's hard] and most people don't push themselves in the gym.
Outside of that... tricep push downs. It's just soo easy to get a tricep pump.Misc'in since '07

Cable Rows w/ Medium Neutral Grip
They hit my upper back, especially rhomboids and mid traps, in a way that feels so satisfying and instant relief. It's like scratching an itch. Plus leaning forward at the beginning and end of the movement adds a nice lat stretch that hits more of the back. It's my favorite because it makes me feel better instantly.
Spoiler!
Also nice but not number one:
One arm face pulls with light weight feel really satisfying in the same way that's like scratching an itch.
There are a bunch of Panatta Monolith machines that feel like perfection, especially their circular motion machines with pre-load levers.
