Portugal sees 79% increase in cyberattacks in 2020

Cyberattacks in Portugal increased 79 percent in 2020 over the previous year with 1,347 incidents registered, according to the National Center for Cybersecurity (CNCS), reports Lusa. Attacks on the banking sector more than tripled in 2020, reaching 229 accidents and making it the second most attacked sector. In first place, the CNCS identified 626 incidents in unspecified sectors and government areas, while digital infrastructures were the third most attacked.
