Eyeing 2022 elections, Cong leaders pretend for justice for desecration of Guru Granth Sahib: AAP

Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) Lashing out at the Captain government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Sing Cheema termed it as a ‘double sacrilege’, stating that Captain Amarinder Singh and his ministers had taken false oath of Sri Gutka Sahib, for action against those responsible for the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji at Bargari and other places.
Cheema said now with the 2022 elections looming, Captain Amarinder Singh and his ministers were pretending to be in a tussle to divert the attention of the people. He said by running sand and mining, transport, drug, land and liquor mafias in his government for over four years now, the Congress ministers and leaders were trying to fool the people by pretending to be truthful.

Cheema said the Aam Aadmi Party had from the very beginning raised its voice against those who had disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib and against those who defended the accused, but now the Congress ministers and leaders who were pretending to be true; never supported the Aam Aadmi Party on this issue.
Taking a dig at the Congress ministers, Cheema asked them to state what pressure they had put on the Chief Minister apart from making statements to get justice for the Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege. He said during the proceedings of the Assembly, Ministers Sukhjinder Randhawa and Charanjit Singh Channi had pretended to beg for justice from Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh but when they came out, they were again part of the same government. Cheema said that these same ministers had come to Bargari Morcha promising justice but after coming back to Chandigarh, they forgot all promises while enjoying the ministership of Captain.
