Palamu: After at least 22 people died from suspects Covid-19 for the past twenty days in a tribal-dominated Sua Kaudia village in the Palamu district of Jharkhand, the district administration ordered an investigation and set up teams to investigate those infected with the virus.
According to Shashi Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner Palamu, a team has been put together to test people suspected of being tested COVID-19 infected and move those positively found in isolation halls to be treated.
“District administration and medical teams at ground level conducted a detailed investigation here. The situation observed. Self-help group workers do recordings in Palamu to record COVID data. Workers will get oximeters for COVID patients. COVID “Test committee was set up to test the suspects, isolate the infected and give medicine,” he said.
However, residents point to the lack of proper health infrastructure in the area and said villagers are being forced to rely on “Jhola Chaap” (quacks) for treatment.
‘The reason for a large number of deaths in the area is the lack of proper health care facilities. There is a health care center, but no one goes from there to the villages to inform people about vaccination and COVID norms. There is also hesitation about vaccines here, but if there had been awareness campaigns, more people would have taken the vaccinations.
‘If anyone here gets sick, they go to the local’ jhola chhap ‘doctors and if their situation worsens, they go to district hospitals. That’s why people die, ”said Bachchan Thakur, a resident of Sua Kaudia.
Another local resident of the town, Mukesh told ANI that about 25 people with Covid-19 similar symptoms have recently died in the area.
“The situation was bad in the town about ten days ago, but people are staying indoors due to fear, and therefore the death toll has not increased,” Mukesh said.
Jharkhand reported 2037 new coronavirus cases and 41 deaths, The COVID in the state, it climbed to 3,277,035, including 22,566 active cases.
