Chandigarh, May 21
The UT Administration has asked M/s City/Apollo Hospital, Sector 8-C, not to admit any new patients.
In view of the acute shortage of oxygen, the UT Administration had fixed a daily quota for all private hospitals.
Yashpal Garg, nodal officer for oxygen supplies in the UT, said entirely different patterns of consumption had been observed. To analyse and examine it further for taking appropriate actions, private hospitals were asked to provide information within three days on the number of beds occupied and the number of cylinders procured from April 1 to May 10. Garg said all other private hospitals submitted the required details, yet M/s City/Apollo Hospital did not submit the same despite repeated reminders on WhatsApp group sent on May 13, 17 and 19.
“In view of above, M/s City/Apollo Hospital is advised not to admit any new patients for the time being. The quota of oxygen is being revised,” reads the order issued by Garg. — TNS
