Dera Bassi, May 21

A 32-bed Covid care centre was inaugurated at Shuddhi Super Speciality Hospital here today by Dera Bassi MLA NK Sharma.

It is the first such centre in Dera Bassi.

The centre has 19 beds with oxygen. Plans are afoot to upgrade the overall bed capacity to 50.

The centre will provide round the clock doctor support, helpers, ayurvedic and allopathic Covid treatment protocols, medicines, and medical consultation.

“The centre will benefit rural residents of the area and the treatment is free of cost,” said Guru Manish.

Shuddhi Ayurveda will provide a mix of ayurvedic treatment as well as allopathic expertise.

Both ayurveda and MBBS doctors will man the facility, he said, adding that extra precautions are being taken with respect to the patients’ diet.

The team has devised special diet plans, which will help patients recover faster. Natural healing methods like pranayama, etc., will also be used to improve oxygen saturation levels of patients, he said.
