Five Ugandan women arrested in Hyderabad for prostitution

Hyderabad: The police said on Friday that an online international human trafficking and drug rack was arrested in Hyderabad with the arrest of five Ugandan women.

The Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Rachakonda Police has sparked the shock by responding to credible information that some people running the online prostitution business through the Locanto dating app.

The accused uploaded semi-nude photos of young girls and collected the money from the customers on the internet or by hand.

ATHU and Chaitanyapuri police have jointly organized a bait operation. The lure customer contacted the cellphone number on the Locanto website and a woman, identified as Nassali Milly, said three Ugandan girls were available with costs ranging from Rs 5000 for one hour to R14,000 for the night.

The lure client negotiated an amount for the three girls and sent his location via Whatsapp to the woman. When the three victims, along with two accused women, arrived by taxi at the given location in Dilsukh Nagar, the lure apprehended them and confiscated drugs from them.

The detainees were identified as Nassali Milly (35), Nakkazzi Florence (36), Sarah Namwanje (23), Nalwoga Oliver Hildah (25) and Sharifah Nakabuubi (25). All lived in the Koh-e-sar colony in Toli Chowki in Hyderabad.

Police seized five cellphones, 5,500 cash, 5 grams of ketamine and 17 grams of unknown drugs.

According to the police, all Ugandans illegally stayed in India after tourist visas expired.

They have been discussed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Immoral Trade Prevention Act, the Aliens Act, the Narcotics and Psychotropics Act and the Passport Act.

According to police, Milly came to India with a tourist visa in December last year and stayed in Mumbai. In March this year, she came to Hyderabad. She had some health problems and because she did not have money for her treatment, she started a prostitution business with Florence by calling three victims from Uganda.
