Tamil Nadu to operate 4,500 special buses within state during weekend

CHENNAI: Ahead of the total lockdown, with no relaxation, the Tamil Nadu transport department has announced that 1,500 special government buses will be operated from Chennai to different parts of the state during the weekend.
Buses to Marthandam, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, Senkottai, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Madurai and Tiruchy will depart from Chennai Moffusil bus terminus and Tambaram between 6 pm and 11:45 pm on Sunday.
Besides this, 3,000 buses will be operated in between other major districts like Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem, Tiruchy and Madurai.
Additional buses will be deployed based on demand, according to an official release on Saturday.
