Telangana tightens policing to apply lock-in

Hyderabad: In an effort to COVID distributed, Telangana police have tightened measures to enforce lock-in across the state.

City police on Saturday saw them stop the papers and permits of vehicles after 10am. Only vehicles with valid permission are allowed on the roads.

Vehicles are seized outside leisure hours and without permission.

DGP Mahender Reddy and other senior police officers conducted surprise investigations at police checkpoints in different parts of the city.

Even in the districts, the police have taken action to ensure that people stay off the roads during the evening hours.

The intensive policing took place after the call of Prime Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for aggressive monitoring of the exclusion between 06:00 and 10:00.

The state has extended the exclusion until May 30. Initially, a 10-day exclusion was introduced from May 12, but the government later decided to keep it until the end of the month.
