Hyderabad: With India swell across countries in the second second under a huge oxygen shortage COVID-19 pandemic wave, Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) imported eleven cryogenic oxygen tanks from Bangkok, Thailand.
The first group of three cryogenic tanks of liquid medical oxygen tanks on an army plane landed at Begumpet Air Force Station on Saturday, and the remaining eight will be here within days. It is part of the ongoing efforts of the Indian Air Force (IAF) to end the national struggle against the COVID-19 virus.
According to media reports, the infrastructure firm with its headquarters in Hyderabad will install these cryogenic oxygen tanks to provide medical oxygen free of charge to the hospitals, as well as public, in the state. Since the country’s fight against the second wave began, states such as Goa, Delhi Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have seen several deaths in the last few months related to the shortage of medical oxygen.
These eleven cryogenic tanks can help increase the supply of liquid medical oxygen and meet the needs of hospitals that require free oxygen. This is the first time in the country that a large number of cryogenic tankers are being imported. Each Cryogenic oxygen tank can yield 1.40 crore liters of oxygen and 15.40 crore liters from all eleven tanks.
