Ramgarh, May 22 (UNI) More than hundred shops located around Maa Chinmastika Temple in Rajrappa were flooded with water as the Bhairavi river overflowed due to rains over the last 48 hours.
Since due to the lockdown most of the shops were closed at the prominent temple spot of the state therefore less damage was caused.
On the other hand, the water level in the Damodar river also increased slightly.
Locals said that in the last one decade it is for the first time the river had got overflowed due to which flood-like situation was being witnessed. Water was also overflowing over the Chilka bridge.
Rajrappa is situated on the confluence of Bhiravi and Damodar Rivers and is the home to Maa Chinmastika Temple which is one among the 51 Shaktipeeths dedicated to Goddess Sati in the country.
