Muktsar, May 21

Three weeks after getting bail in the Republic Day violence case, actor-activist Deep Sidhu today started holding public meetings from his native Udekaran village here.

During his public address at a gurdwara, Deep Sidhu appealed to farmer unions at Delhi borders to unite and re-build pressure on the Centre to revoke the three farm laws.

Chargesheeted

“The Centre has not held even a single meeting with the farmer unions since January 26. Our leaders should give a concrete programme. We should hold discussion on future course of action, rather than accusing each other. Nobody has so far even asked me to come to the protest site. I have now started holding public meetings to make people aware of the actual situation. This is our protest and we should all participate in it,” said Deep Sidhu.

He added, “Our own people are not allowing us to raise questions and behaving just like the government. Nobody is criticising the BJP or Centre now, but targeting each other. The leadership should have a big vision. We should analyse the protest again. Let us unite and fight this battle of our survival.”— TNS
