Chandigarh, May 22: Former IPS officer and Haryana Director General of Police (Retd.), Sh. Baljit Singh Sandhu has contributed Rs. 2.01 lakh to the Haryana Police Welfare Fund for helping the frontline workers fighting COVID-19.
Saluting the spirit of the police personnel, Mr. Sandhu said that in these hard times of pandemic, Haryana Police personnel are putting their lives at risk to provide 24 hours service to the people. Police personnel is constantly under the grip of corona infection while containing the spread of the virus. Despite this, these ‘karamveers’ are not only transporting the infected ones to the hospitals but are ensuring home delivery of oxygen to the needy patients.
He also urged former police officers to come forward and contribute to the welfare of corona warriors.
It is worthwhile to mention that earlier also, Mr. Sandhu had donated his three months pension equal to Rs. 2 lakh in Covid-19 Relief Fund.
He urged the citizens to stand united to defeat Corona and strictly follow Covid norms like wearing masks, washing hands, and practice social distancing.
