Chandigarh, May 20
PPCC president Sunil Jakhar today cautioned “a few self-styled” party leaders who were trying to inflame dissidence by questioning Capt Amarinder Singh over delay in justice to the families of police firing victims, saying the party high command was keeping a close watch on them.
The state government and the Congress high command were serious about it and justice would be assured in the case, he said. “In these challenging times due to Covid-19 and the adverse High Court judgment over the Kotkapura police firing case, a few leaders are trying to hijack the core issue and fulfil their hidden political ambitions,” he observed. Referring to the May 18 meeting at Charanjit Channi’s residence, Jakhar said: “By giving false figures of the people reportedly attending their meetings, some leaders are creating the illusion of leading a campaign that is a figment of their own imagination.” — TNS
