LUCKNOW: From June, the state government will disburse Rs 1,000 as financial aid to lakhs of daily wage earners whose livelihoods have been hit by the second wave of the
pandemic.
Chief secretary R K Tiwari issued directives to compile a list of beneficiaries, including
street vendors, shopkeepers, registered labourers, e-rickshaw drivers, rickshaw pullers, coolies, barbers, dhobis, halwais and cobblers, who would receive Rs 1,000 per family per month.
District level committees have set up to collate data on beneficiaries, upload it on the relief commissioner website and ensure direct bank transfer.
Among the beneficiary categories, those coming in ‘halwai’ bracket have to be identified carefully, the CS has said. Only those who do not pay GST will be eligible for the scheme. Among dhobis, owners of dry cleaning shops will not be included.
