TRICHY: A decision on extending the lockdown in Tamil Nadu will be taken after the meetings of the legislature parties' committee and medical experts on Saturday, said chief minister MK Stalin in Trichy on Friday. Addressing a press conference at National Institute of Technology, Trichy, Stalin said Covid-19 infection was coming down in some parts of the state while the situation was yet to be under control in Coimbatore due to various reasons like movement people from Kerala and Karnataka. “The movement of people to buy vegetable is still high. In Coimbatore, industrialists, traders and the people insisted on extending the lockdown fully. We will decide it in the meeting tomorrow and announce,” the CM said. The chief minister was in Trichy for Covid-19 review. He inaugurated a 250-bed additional facility at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, a 100-bed facility at Kalaiarangam marriage hall and a 500-bed Covid care centre at NIT-Trichy.
