The number of children aged 0-9 years testing positive in the past two months is 143% of the total infections reported till March 18 this year, while it was 160% in the 10-19 age group.
Karnataka on Thursday reported a dip in fresh infections, logging 28,869 cases, but saw a rise in deaths which touched 548. This is the fifth time that the state is reporting over 500 deaths in a day and all these have been during this month. Bengaluru reported 9,409 cases during the day and 289 deaths.

Health minister K Sudhakar on Thursday said the state will resume vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group from May 22. The state had suspended the drive for this category from May 14.
