Anil Vij on Friday said that the state government will import one crore doses of
Covid-19 under the global tenders.
Anil Vij on Friday afternoon tweeted, “The
Haryana government will import 1 crore corona vaccine under global tenders so that there is no shortage of vaccine in the state. We are also getting regular vaccine from the Centre government, which are being administered to the people.”
Vij was speaking to the media at his home in Ambala Cantonment.
Anil Vij said, “Yesterday (on Thursday), we have decided under the global tenders that we are going to float for Covid vaccine, that it will be done for 1 crore doses.”
In another development with regards to providing healthcare services to the Covid-19 patients, post treatment of the infection, the Haryana government has decided to start ‘Umang’ (enthusiasm) post Covid care centres in all large government hospitals in the state.
Talking about the Umang centres, Anil Vij said, “It has been observed that Covid-19 patients despite recovering from the disease are facing many big problems. We have taken a decision that in every large government hospital in the state of Haryana, post Covid care centres namely Umang will be set up. A special room will be designated for this centre and duties of doctors will be placed there. After observing whatever diseases are being reported, a psychologist will also be deputed. A physiotherapist will also be deputed. Pranayama (a Yoga asna) is very beneficial in recovery of this and a Yoga teacher will be deputed for the same. All the preparations have been made for these centres and we will inaugurate these from Monday onwards.”
In the matter of complaint lodged by Haryana state legislative assembly speaker
Gian Chand Gupta about fleecing of money from Covid-19 patients by private hospitals in Haryana, Anil Vij said, “Respected, Gian Chand Gupta,
Haryana Vidhan Sabha speaker has lodged a complaint with me. In his complaint, he (Gupta) has alleged that
Paras Hospital is highly overcharging patients than the notified rates of the state government. So, I have constituted a three-member high-level committee which will probe the matter under the leadership of Dr Shaleen, director of medical education and research, Haryana.”
