NEW DELHI: Opposing the plea of former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh for transfer of all inquiries against him to an independent agency like the CBI, a police inspector of Mumbai police has approached the Supreme Court raising questions on integrity of the top cop and alleging that he indulged in corrupt practices during his entire service period. Filing an intervention application, inspector Bhimraj Rohidas Ghadge told the court about instances when Singh had tried to influence the probe and put pressure to let off accused in many cases. Ghadge is a police inspector with the Mumbai police and was attached to Bazarpeth Police Station, Thane, when Singh was working as commissioner of police in 2015. The officer alleged that the former commissioner had implicated him in several false and frivolous cases. “...Although the petitioner is trying to pose himself as an upright and honest police officer, the true narration of facts would reveal a completely different picture,” he said.
