On Thursday, Jai Ram Thakur, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, while presiding over the review meeting of tourism and civil aviation Department in Shimla has asked the officers to make sure about time bound completion of the current projects to keep away from cost escalation in addition to providing timely facilities to the people.
He explained that by spending Rs 25.75 crore, the Cultural Centre at Janjehli in Mandi district has been completed and would be offered on public private partnership (PPP) mode for operation.
He also stated that pre-bid meeting for this project has been scheduled for June 3. Bids would be submitted on June 25th. He mentioned that at a cost of Rs 12.15 crore, heliport at Shimla was being constructed and would get completed by the end of July 2021.
Jai Ram Thakur explained that Kangra Haat, Dal Lake and Art and Craft Project at Bhalei Mata was coming close to completion at a cost of Rs. 17 crore, Rs 4 crore and Rs 4 crore respectively. He said that by September 2021, convention centre at Kiarighat in Solan district would be completed by spending an amount of Rs 29.90 crore.
He also mentioned that Shivdham at Mandi was a grand project. The first phase of this project has been awarded at a cost of Rs. 36.12 crore. He directed the PWD authorities to expedite the work on construction of road leading to this project.
