Ashton Kutcher's Twin Brother Michael Explains Why He Was 'Very Angry' With the Actor in 2003
Ashton Kutcher‘s twin brother Michael Kutcher was on The Today Show this week to talk about his life with cerebral palsy.
The 43-year-old actor revealed to the world back in 2003 that Michael has CP, which came as a shock to his brother as he never spoke publicly about it before.
“I was very angry. Very angry. I remember speaking to him about it. I didn’t want to be the face of CP. I never talked about it,” Michael said on The Today Show on Thursday (May 20).

Michael was only three-years-old when he was diagnosed with CP and he says Ashton defended him against bullies at school. He said, “My brother picked a fight with them. He stood up for me. He wanted them to treat me with respect. And that meant a lot.”
Michael is now a spokesperson for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and he also works with families who need help caring for a family member with disabilities. He used Ashton‘s birth name while thanking his brother.
“Chris did me the biggest favor he’s ever done, because he allowed me to be myself,” he said.
Ashton provided a statement to Today. He said, “My brother’s daily actions remind me that life isn’t about running around challenges—it’s about running through them. Mike has a relentless work ethic and a deep compassion for others.”
