A California-based NRI and a Canadian NRI today donated two ambulances to social worker Sonu Sethi for providing free service to the public in the tricity.

“Sethi saab, a known philanthropist, serves accident victims, Covid patients and general public in emergency,” said Mohali SSP Satinder Singh while launching the two ambulances at the District Administrative Complex. Sethi recently lost his mother to Covid.

Meanwhile, a Covid care centre at the Community Centre, Sector 69, Mohali, was inaugurated. Covid patients can avail themselves of medical treatment, food and oxygen facility free of cost here, said Swaranjit Singh, president of the Serve Humanity Serve God Charitable Trust. On the first day, 10 patients were admitted to the centre. Twelve of the beds have oxygen faciltiy.

At Zirakpur, the Municipal Council is set to begin a 100-bed facility soon. Similarly, a Covid care centre at Dera Bassi is set be opened soon.
