Rachakonda CP warns ambulance service providers against exploitation

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat on Thursday asked ambulance service providers not to exploit people, particularly Covid-19 patients during the pandemic.

The Commissioner cited a recent incident where an ambulance driver over-charged patients, which was later returned after his intervention. He also warned those black marketing Remdesivir injections and reiterated that criminal action would be taken against them. There were doctors and nurses too involved in such cases, he said.

Due to the lockdown, transport facilities were vital for medical emergencies, he said, adding that the Rachakonda Police was trying to arrange alternate facilities with the help of NGOs. People in medical emergencies could approach the Rachakonda Police for transport too, he added.
