OSF Digital launches in Australia, New Zealand and APAC through Adept Group acquisition

Evolving since 2003, OSF Digital promises next level digital transformation services and world-class B2C services, now adeptly force multiplied by the Adept Group’s “tech-leading B2B reach,” accelerating the company’s “effort and mission to become the top global digital transformation partner to commerce brands worldwide.”

With some of the world’s biggest brands already on its roster, digital commerce-focused system integrator OSF Digital is enhancing its B2C services in Australia and New Zealand through the acquisition of Adept Group, while also establishing what it says will be “a leading position for its B2B commerce capabilities in the region.”

The company offers ecommerce solutions and digital transformation services to B2B and B2C companies worldwide, and says its “customers include some of the world’s biggest brands: L'Oréal USA, Burton, Ubisoft, Bouclair, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Geox, Kal Tire, Stonewall Kitchen, Lush Handmade Cosmetics, Domaine Chandon, Urban Barn and many more.”

Clearly, the company’s focus on showing its focus on “becoming the go-to digital commerce transformation partner to brands globally” has been an ever improving reality for some time, with the company growing to over 1000 employees and 40 offices worldwide.

With 2020 a year of accelerated digital transformation for OSF Digital as it was for virtually everyone, and the company announcing a $43 million war chest earlier this month for further expansion and the delivery of what the company says is it “robust acquisition roadmap, which welcomes new companies in 2021 with strategic services and solutions valuable to customers," its future was looking good before the Adept Group acquisition, and even stronger afterwards.

A Salesforce partner for 10 years and recognised by Salesforce as a “Navigator Expert” for its expertise in both B2B and B2C Commerce the firm claims “deep industry expertise” enabling it to “identify a client’s unique requirements and launch innovative commerce solutions dedicated to specific markets and industry verticals.”

OSF says this expertise was useful in 2020 when it launched “20+ out-of-the-box industry-specific solutions and commerce accelerators to help brands around the world begin selling online fast and overcome pandemic-related challenges” - which OSF was itself selling online to empower a whole range of customers overcome their own pandemic-related challenges, through which OSF was obviously empowered to overcome its own.

So, why the Adept Group, and when did the two companies start working together?

Naturally, OSF says the acquisition of Adept establishes it as “a tech-leading B2B partner in a fast-growing region while providing new opportunities for OSF to deliver its world-class B2C services.”

With offices in Auckland and Wellington, Adept is billed as an independently and already recognised expert in B2B commerce whose customers include many of the area’s top banking, retail, energy and FMCG companies.

However, in what is obviously very synergistic with OSF’s own expertise, we’re told that Adept “also has strong expertise in Core Salesforce clouds including Sales, Service, Community and Marketing Cloud as well as being a regional leader in CPQ which complements its B2B Commerce services.”

Gerard (Gerry) Szatvanyi, Co-Founder, President and CEO of OSF Digital said: “The relationship between OSF and Adept began in 2019, when Adept joined the OSF Global Partner Alliance. OSF leadership noticed the vision of the two companies was aligned on the goal of delivering both B2B and B2C commerce services.

“As part of the company’s effort and mission to become the top global digital transformation partner to commerce brands worldwide, OSF began looking at New Zealand and Australia as logical opportunities for expansion.

“Adept was a terrific match based on the strength of its reputation, skill set and relationships with many of the leading brands in the region. This acquisition expands our presence in Australia, drawing on the coordination of our existing team in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The move also strengthens our position as a leading digital transformation partner to B2B and B2C brands that want to start or enhance their digital strategies locally and expand globally,” Szatvanyi continued.

Dominic Stow, CEO of Adept and now OSF’s Regional VP for the A/NZ region said: “There are few, if any, digital commerce services firms in the region with the skills or experience to help B2C companies develop and implement their digital strategies – and zero with the strength or capabilities that OSF has to offer.

“By joining forces, we can continue meeting the needs of our core B2B customer base while creating an opportunity to engage a long list of B2C companies in the region that have been underserved from a digital commerce perspective.

“In addition, we will be able to expand our ability to deliver on our customers’ digital transformation objectives by combining Commerce solutions with Salesforce Core Cloud solutions—a very compelling proposition to be able to provide this full customer 360 to our clients,” Stow concluded.

OSF Digital’s record of customer win-wins over the last few years and this year alone as chronicled at its newsroom is an impressive sign the company has reached the next level its own ability to continually improve through the constantly evolving digital transformation of its own operations alongside the world’s own constant technological achievements, upheavals and innovations, allowing it to offer an ever-more sophisticated, mature, thoroughly modern, and ever improving set of products, solutions on its ever evolving platform.

Of course, any company considering its services would naturally do their own due diligence on OSF, its products, services, customers, partners and the platforms uses and builds to deliver on its promises, but with so many businesses regionally and globally needing to thoroughly modernise and streamline their operations through cutting edge technologies built for the realities of 2021 and beyond, companies of the scale that OSF Digital serves are obviously taking a good, hard look at the company’s solutions, and choosing OSF as their partner to do so.

Whatever happens, OSF now has a more powerful presence in the A/NZ markets with its investment, and that’s always a good sign for continued competition and innovation, and as long as that keeps happening, customers will be the winners, and companies life ODF will be too.

One wonders what digital transformation will look like in 2030. Ultra-advanced programmable matter of the type seen in a short YouTube clip from the first episode of Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery is extremely unlikely to be available that soon, even though there are people working on robotic programmable matter right now (see this November 2020 YouTube video) but to update the well known saying, the future is not only being re-invented by individuals and companies, and the technologies that win the fight are being distributed to ever more people at ever faster rates the world over

Although we rightly think all of our incredible technological advancements are amazing, by the lens of science fiction writers we can see that our current tech is still in the equivalent of the black and white TV era of technological innovation, so as long as we don’t blow ourselves up in a financial, ecological, medical, nuclear or other catastrophe first, what we do have today really is amazing - and the best is still yet to come.
