Android 12 might come with a dedicated Game mode
Google officially announced Android 12 at its Google I/O event. The operating system is also available in beta for select smartphones and people have already started discovering new features such as precise location, new user interface and more.

Among others, a Reddit user Kilarasx while fiddling around with Android 12 beta found a dedicated Game mode hidden somewhere under the Digital Wellbeing. According to the Reddit post, the Game mode was tucked away under Settings -> Digital Wellbeing -> Do Not Disturb -> Schedules. Under Sleeping and Event schedules option, the user found the Game mode toggle.

Well, this might be a very unusual place to put such a useful feature, but it clearly says that Google might be planning to bake the Game mode directly to the operating system at the core level.

Coming back to the Game mode, turning it on brought a new menu featuring six options to choose from -- Quick screenshots, Screen recording, On-screen FPS counter and Do not disturb mode and more.

Android Authority also reported the same on their Google Pixel 4 running Android 12 beta.

Under the four options -- there are Game Optimisation and YouTube Live options included as well. Which means, Google is planning to bring Game optimization features to the core level of the operating system instead of just a software which most companies offer today. Also, game streamers will be happy to see a built-in YouTube Live option. This will make streamers like easier.

According to the Redditor, the Game Optimisation feature isn’t functional right now. Maybe Google will enable this feature in future versions of Android 12 beta.
