Google introduced Android 12, the latest version of its mobile operating system -- to the world at this year’s edition of its annual developers conference I/O 2021. Android 12 brings a host of new features that includes new animations, visuals, security features and more. Google has termed Android 12 as its biggest-ever visual overhaul. The very first beta of Android 12 OS has been released and is available on Google Pixel devices and a few other Android smartphones. Here are the phones that will get Android 12 Beta.

Some Sharp, Tecno, and Realme smartphones are also set to get the Android 12 Beta.

How to install Android 12 Beta

If you have a supported Pixel phone, you can head over to the Android 12 beta website and enroll your handset there in the beta programme. The web address is https://www.google.com/android/beta

After enrolling the device, you may get a notification on your phone prompting you to install the software. Otherwise, to do it manually, go to System in your phone settings first.

Tap on System Update

Tap “Check for update”. If the download doesn’t start immediately, you have no option but to wait

If you have some other eligible phone, you can follow the instructions on each page from Google’s list of eligible phones



Can I leave the Android 12 Beta?

According to Google: “You can opt out of the program at any time to return to the stable, public version of Android. When you opt-out of the program, all user data on the device will be wiped.”
