Dangerous for peace, law and order of Haryana, Punjab, if Gurmeet Ram Rahim released on parole: Baljit Singh Daduwal

AMBALA: Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) president Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal on Thursday said that the release of a “dangerous criminal like Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim” would be at the cost of peace and law and order situation in the states of Haryana and Punjab.
Jathedar Daduwal told media, “Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been convicted in the rape and murder cases by the honourable CBI court. He has been lodged in Sunaria jail of Rohtak and he wants to come out of the jail on different grounds. Even his followers, who are sitting in the ruling government in Haryana, want to bring him out.”
“Granting parole to a dangerous criminal like the Dera Sacha Sauda head, would be alarming for the peace and law and order situation of the states including Haryana and Punjab. The world knows that Dera head raped his followers and it is confirmed by the CBI court conviction. He is also convicted for life imprisonment in murder case of journalist Ramchander Chhatarparti, who published a daily evening newspaper in Sirsa. He is also facing charges of mass castration of his male followers”, said Daduwal.
“Due to conviction and charges against Dera head, private and government property was set on fire in three states and the crimes were committed as per his direction. When Dera head was convicted on August 25, 2017, about 40 persons had lost precious lives in violence at Panchkula and 10 people had died in Sirsa. The only person to blame for this loss is Dera head Ram Rahim. But some of his followers, who are sitting in the ruling government in Haryana, saved him and did not let police name him as accused in the violence cases”, said Daduwal.
Speaking on the issue of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Faridkot district, Daduwal said, “In the year 2015, the saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib were stolen from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in Faridkot district and the sacrilege was committed in Bargari and many other places. Followers of Dera Sacha Sauda head have been arrested in this case by the Punjab police. He even attempted to assassinate me as I exposed Dera's head. This fact has been recorded in the challan presented before the court in the Bargari case. Mahinderpal Bittu was given money for my assassination but he failed.”
Daduwal said, “All the above incidents can give an idea about how dangerous a criminal Dera head is. Now, he wants to come out of jail for 21 days but is making ground of his mother’s health. I believe that if Gurmeet Ram Rahim is granted parole, it would be very dangerous for the peace of Haryana and Punjab.”
Giving reason behind his apprehension, Daduwal said, “Because there are cases pending against Gurmeet Ram Rahim including of mass castration of his followers, murder case of Ranjit Singh Khanpur Kolian, and Bargari sacrilege case is sub-judice in the court. And if he comes out on parole, he can affect these cases and get the witnesses assassinated.”
Daduwal said the Haryana government should not take care of Dera head followers inside their government and should make immediate efforts to stop his parole.
“If a parole is granted, the peace and justice lovers will strongly oppose this decision”, said Daduwal.
