Sysco Corp. engages in selling, marketing, and distribution of food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, and lodging establishments. It operates through the following segments: U.S. Foodservice Operations, International Foodservice Operations, SYGMA, and Other. The U.S. Foodservice Operations consists of U.S. Broadline operations, custom-cut meat and seafood companies, FreshPoint, and European Imports. The International Foodservice Operations segment includes broadline operations in America and Europe, which distribute a full line of food products and a wide variety of non-food products. The SYGMA segment represents its customized distribution subsidiary. The Other segment covers hotel supply operations. The company was founded by John F. Baugh in 1969 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.
