According to National Weather Service Lake Charles Warning Coordination Meteorologist Roger Erickson, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a “trough of low pressure” off the south Texas coast.
The system has only a 20% chance for tropical development before hitting land on Friday afternoon or night, he said.
However, it is expected to come ashore in Southeast Texas or Southwest Louisiana and continue the threat of flash flooding through early Saturday.
