Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 to run new Wear OS expected to be powered by 5nm chipset

NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google made various announcements at its annual developer conference -- I/O 2021. One of the important announcements was Google's partnership with Samsung.

As part of this association both the companies are merging Google's Wear OS and Samsung's Tizen OS in developing a future Wear operating system for smartwatches.

None of the companies shared any details about the OS or the upcoming smartwatches. However, popular tipster Ice Universe has revealed some important information about the upcoming Galaxy Watch.

Samsung has already confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Watch will run on the new operating system. However, the tipster suggests that it will still be based on Tizen OS. The smartwatch is also said to be powered by a 5nm chipset which is said to offer a better performance and battery life to the wearable.

Along with this, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to feature a 2D glass and sport narrow bezel design. The smartphone is expected to come with a titanium alloy frame.

Samsung is also expected to retain its rotating bezel design in the Galaxy Watch 4.

Another online report revealed that Samsung might not include the much-anticipated blood glucose monitoring feature in its upcoming smartwatch. A report by Korean news publication MT News revealed that Samsung will not include the blood sugar measuring feature in the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

Recently, Samsung confirmed that it will offer software support and updates to the present Galaxy Watch owners. In an official blog post, Samsung announced that it will offer at least three years of support to its Tizen-based Galaxy smartwatches.

This three year timeline will start from the time of the product launch. For instance, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 was launched last year so it will get software updates till August 2023.
