COVID-19: Telangana reports 3,837 new cases, 25 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 3,837 fresh on Wednesday COVID-19 a case that raised the case to more than 5.40 lakhring, while the toll stood at 3,037 with another 25 deaths, reads a government bulletin.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most cases with 594, followed by Rangareddy (265) and Medchal Malkajgiri (239).

The state has 46,946 active cases and more than 71,000 samples have been tested.

The total number of cumulative cases in the state stood at 5,40,603, while 4,976 were cured, the total recoveries were at 4,90,620.

Cumulatively, more than 1.42 peak samples were tested.

The samples tested per million inhabitants were more than 3.83 lakh, the bulletin said.

The death rates and recovery rates in the state were 0.56 percent and 90.75 percent, respectively, compared to 1.1 percent and 86.2 percent at the national level.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who also oversees the health portfolio, visited the state-run Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday to investigate the treatment offered to COVID-19 patients and also creates trust among inmates, reads an official release.

KCR spoke to some of the patients in the hospital, he said.
