Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna
PATNA: The state health department on Tuesday wrote to the Union health ministry, seeking permission to set up a molecular genome laboratory at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna under Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) programme. The INSACOG was established in December last year in the wake of detection of new variant of SARS-CoV-2 in the United Kingdom. Additional chief secretary (health) Pratyaya Amrit said there are 10 such laboratories in the INSACOG network in the country at present.
