Telangana government forms new TSPSC with B Janardhan Reddy as chairman

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Wednesday convened a new civil service commission, chaired by senior IAS official and current Secretary-General of Agriculture, B Janardhan Reddy.

The government has also appointed Ramavath Dhan Singh, retired chief engineer, public health department; Prof. Linga Reddy, Head of the Physics Division at the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT); Kotla Aruna Kumari, special grade deputy collector; Sumithra Anand Tanoba, Telugu language pandit; Karam Ravinder Reddy, retired government employee; Dr.Aravelli Chandrashekar Rao, Ayurvedic doctor and R. Satyanarayana, journalist as members of the commission.

The 11-member commission has been operating for several months with only one member, prof. Sailu Chintha as acting chairperson, after several of its members, including chairperson Ghanta Chakrapani, completed their term of office in December last year.

Along with Chakrapani, C Vittal, Dr B Chandravathi and Dr Mohd Mateenuddin Quadri also retired from him.

According to the TSPSC regulations, half of the members must be those who have served as officers in the Central or Public Services with at least 20 years of service in the Central or State Government.

The remnants can be selected from the prominent people from different parts of society, including academics, management, science and technology, law, humanities and those with integrity in society.
