CCpur, May 18 2021:
DGP LM Khaute today held a consultative meeting with local CSO leaders today apparently in an attempt to rope in their services to effectively contain the surging Covid-19 cases in Churachandpur.
As Churachandpur is one among the containment areas in the State due to its substantial share in new cases the Government maintained that involving the local CSOs will substantially help in implementing Covid guidelines.
Briefly addressing the press on the sidelines, Khaute said there is a need to involve the CSOs to make the communities understand about the pandemic and formulate a mechanism to devise a strong and strict implementation of the guidelines so that the State is in a position to contain the pandemic as early as possible in an effective manner.
Representatives of more than 10 CSOs attended the meeting today and the DGP presented them with PPEs, hand santisers and face masks.
The DGP talking about the overwhelming inputs received from the CSOs said that the district administration and the police will soon be working to find a mechanism to jointly tackle the pandemic along with the civil organisations.
A Joint Consultative Committee or Task Force is therefore expected to be formulated with the President/Secretary of the CSOs as members and all units of the CSO in various localities will take the task of ensuring strict observance of SOPs in their respective areas.
