LUDHIANA: A meeting of state traders board was held at Ludhiana Stock Exchange on Wednesday which was presided over by Bhupinder Basant, senior vice chairman (Excise and Taxation), Punjab State Traders Board. On this occasion, Basant interacted with the businessmen into the stock trading business to take feedback about the impact of Covid-19 on their businesses and also listen to their problems. Speaking on the occasion, Basant said, “Covid-19 has adversely affected every business pan India but under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab government is making every effort to bring the business on the right track. All government departments related to industry have been put on alert by government to ensure time bound disposal of their problems and also provide majority of the services without the need of businessmen visiting the department. As far as issues of industry related to excise and taxation are concerned we are organising an interaction with the top notch GST officials in which all these will be discussed and resolved” Basant also said, “Punjab Government has clearly instructed that all industries should be made aware about the policies and schemes of the state and Traders Board should reach out to all the businesses across the state to ensure that every eligible businessman gets the benefit of these” On the ocassion TS Thapar, chairman of Ludhiana Stock Exchange asked Basant to convince government to issue a relief package for the traders and service industry as the segment has been adversely impacted due to the pandemic. LSC securities Limited chairman Pramod Goya, Advocate Sanjeev Sood Banka, Advocate Varinder Sharma Bobby and others were also present on the occasion and all the businessmen hailed the appointment of Basant as Senior vice chairman of the Traders Board.
