Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Mid Season 3 Update Detailed

Treyarch has revealed details about the next mid-season update to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The update, set to arrive on May 20, is bringing new content to Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer and Zombies modes, along with its new '80s Action Heroes event.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer

One of the major updates to Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer is the return of Black Ops 2’s Standoff map. The map is getting its own Standoff 24/7 playlist, with modes like TDM, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint.

The game is also getting the Duga map, which originally made its debut in Zombies for the first half of the season in Outbreak. Duga allows for multi-team modes, like the new last-team-standing Multi-Team Elimination mode where ten teams of four drop in with limited redeploys and fight for survival.

As part of the ‘80s Action Heroes event, the game is also getting the new Die Hardpoint mode, which is a modification of the Hardpoint mode. If a player’s timer starts ticking down, the player will explode when it reaches zero. This can be avoided by capturing more Hardpoints and killing enemies.

Next week will see the release of Rambo’s Gun Game, which will be a modification of the Gun Game mode with 20 high-powered weapons. The new 12v12 Moshpit is also getting an update with more 6v6 maps with Standoff, The Pines, and Moscow.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War League Play

League Play now has match cancelling to help reduce the number of matches with lopsided teams. From this week, matches will be cancelled if players disconnect before the start of the match, or shortly after the match starts. The remaining players will not lose their Ladder Points.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies

Zombies is getting new content and features to all of its modes, including Outbreak, Dead Ops Arcade, Onslaught, and Zombies.

Alongside the '80s Action Heroes event, Zombies is getting the new Cranked 2: No Time to Crank mode to "Firebase Z" and "Die Maschine". All Mystery Box locations are active and feature a selection of weapons and Support, with a higher frequency of the latter this time around.

Players start with the knife, and zombies are more likely to drop lethal explosive equipment when killed. Crafting Tables, Wall Buys, and the Main Quest are disabled.

May 20 will bring the start of the first-ever Outbreak Main Quest, where players will try to discover the secrets of the Ural Mountains. It will feature new Dark Aether story Documents, Audio Logs, Radio Transmissions, and Artifacts.

Dead Ops Arcade 3 will be getting the new Silverback Slideways bonus map, alongside gameplay improvements and bug fixes. Onslaught is getting its 18th map with Standoff, along with the new Mystery Munitions limited-time mode and a new challenge for an exclusive Weapon Blueprint.
