Vegas Strip Club to Host Pop-Up COVID Site, Tender 'Platinum' Cards to Patrons With Proof of Vaccination

A strip club in Las Vegas will transform into a COVID-19 pop-up site this Friday, with a benefit to patrons who can prove they've been vaccinated against the virus.

The Southern Nevada Health District released on Monday a number of new temporary vaccine sites in the area, including Larry Flynt's Hustler Club—an establishment that bills itself as the No.1 rated strip club in Las Vegas.

"Opened in September of 2010, Larry's new place contains a heady air of possibilities, starting with visitor seducing sights and sounds from the minute you touch down at the club," its website reads. "It is comprised of 70,000 square feet of astounding elegance spread across three floors and a resident executive basement reserved for management and the entertainers."

Larry Flynt's Hustler Club will serve as a vaccine sit on May 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The club is located at 6007 Dean Martin Drive.

The club's Twitter page promoted the event on Tuesday, adding that anyone who is fully inoculated against the coronavirus can receive a "free platinum membership."

According to its site, such a membership would normally cost $1,200 for one year. It includes free admission for the membership holder and five guests, 20 percent off the bar tab, VIP wristbands, exclusive party invitations.

KVVU-TV reported that in addition to the membership, a media release from the club said those who get the vaccine will also receive a "complimentary bottle, free dances from a vaccinated entertainer, tickets to see Sexxy After Dark by Jennifer Romas, and limousine transportation"—all valued at $5,000.

"The club is hosting the vaccination site to help promote the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine and to offer an on-site amenity for clubgoers, staff and locals," the club said.

The club's namesake, American publisher and Hustler magazine founder Larry Flynt, died in February at the age of 78.

Nevada's COVID-19 test positivity rate fell below 5 percent, according to data released Tuesday by the state's health department. The state reported 287 new COVID-19 cases earlier this week, bringing the state's total number of cases to 321,368. More than 5,500 state residents have died from the virus over the past year.

According to state data, more than 2.1 million vaccine doses have been distributed. Slightly more than 31 percent of the population has been fully inoculated.

In its announcement of new pop-up sites, the Southern Nevada Health District said it "continues to stress the importance of everyone getting the COVID-19 vaccine."

"Younger adults and children with COVID-19 may have mild or even no symptoms, but some will get severely ill and even require hospitalization. They can also spread the virus to those who may be more at risk for complications from the illness. Vaccinations are critical to stopping this pandemic, and the more people who are vaccinated the better they will work," the health district said.

Newsweek reached out to Larry Flynt's Hustler Club for additional comment but did not receive a response before publication.
