New Delhi: Indian women cricket star Priya Punia lost her mother Saroj COVID-19. And while the cricketer was going to join the Indian team for a two-week quarantine before leaving for the UK, she went to social media to share an emotional message.

With Instagram, she wrote: ‘Today I realized why you always told me to be strong. You knew I would one day need the strength to bear your loss. I miss your mom! No matter the distance, I know you are always there with me. My leading star, my mother .. Always love you. Some realities of life are hard to accept. Your memories will never be forgotten! Rest in peace Ma. Follow the rules and take precautions. This virus is very dangerous. Wear mask, keep social distance, stay safe and stay strong. ”
The women’s team will meet with the men’s team and then leave for the UK on 2 June. Indian women and England will soon start in a four-day Test match, starting on 16 June. Then they include horns in three one-day matches starting on June 27th. with the matches being played in Bristol, Taunton and Worcester. Both teams will then start in 9 T20Is, on July 9 and the three matches will be played in Northampton, Hove and Chelmsford.
Earlier, Indian women cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy lost her mother and sister due to Covid-19. Veda on Monday thanked the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah for expanding support in these unprecedented times.
