CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu chief minister
M K Stalin is undertaking a tour of five districts – Salem, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy – on Thursday and Friday. This is the first official tour Stalin is undertaking after taking over as chief minister early this month.
Sensing the enthusiasm his visit will generate among the party functionaries and
cadre, Stalin on Wednesday asked them not to try to meet him.
“This is an official visit, especially to review steps being taken to safeguard people from the
Covid pandemic,” Stalin said in a statement.
“Hence I request party functionaries and cadre not to attempt to come and meet either during my official engagements nor at the place of stay. I urge you all to continue to focus on ‘Ondrinaivom Va’ and help the needy by taking complete precautions,” Stalin said.
He asked partymen not to put up banners, cut-outs and flags en route to welcome him.
