Shri. Sunil Paliwal, IAS., Chairman, Chennai Port Trust & CMD, Kamarajar Port Limited along with Shri S.Balaji Arunkumar, IRTS, Deputy Chairman, Chennai Port Trust, met Shri M.K.Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 13 May at State Secretariat.
According to a media release, Chairman, Chennai Port Trust briefed about the port operations and safety measures taken on Covid 19 at the port to the Chief Minister.
CHENNAI PORT TRUST LAUNCHES COVID – 19 VACCINATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF SEAFARERS
The drive was inaugurated by its Chairman Shri Sunil Paliwal, I.A.S in the presence of Shri S. Balaji Arunkumar, I.R.T.S, Deputy Chairman, Chennai Port Trust and Dr N. Padma, Chief Medical Officer, Chennai Port Trust. On the occasion, Paliwal informed that the Port administration is taking all measures to safeguard the Port’s workforce and their families from the pandemic.
On first day, 10 seafarers got first dose of vaccination. The vaccination for the seafarers will be a continuous one and will be undertaken every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (10.30 AM to 12.30 PM) at Chennai Port Trust Hospital. For, vaccination, the sea farers will have to furnish their personal details including Adhaar card no, mobile no, e-mail id, CDC no (Continuous Discharge Certificate – a Mariner’s term), Company name, Agent name to the Chennai Port’s Chief Medical Officer (cmo@chennaiport.gov.in). Upon allotment of a slot they can come and get themselves vaccinated.
The Chairman appealed to the seafarers to come forward and avail the facility.
