Bihar CM Nitish Kumar inspects facilites at community kitchen centres in Patna on Tuesday.
PATNA: A day after taking stock of arrangements at different community kitchen centres in 22 districts, CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected facilities at six community kitchen centres of the state capital via virtual tour through video conferencing from the ‘Sankalp’ hall of his residence.
The six kitchen centres inspected on Tuesday, are located at the Bankipore Girls’ High School near the Golghar, the Patna High School, Gardanibagh, the Saidppur canal Rain Basera, the NMCH, Agamkuan, the Rajkiya High School, Mangal Talab, Patna City and the College of Commerce.
CM also spoke to some of the beneficiaries at all six kitchen centres, and took opinion of the visitors about the facilities and quality of foods being provided to them at the centres.
All the beneficiaries to whom the CM spoke through video conferencing, lauded the quality of food and other arrangements made at the centres.
Nitish asked the beneficiaries about the quality of meal, since when she / he taking meal from the centre, how many time they take meal in a day, how many items they get in the meal and what are the items, how many members from their family take meal from the centre, and do they face any difficulty in getting meal from the government-run kitchens?
Kedar Saw, one of the beneficiaries at the Bankipore Girls’ High School, told the CM, “We are taking both meals every day at the centre. The quality of food is very good. The taste is better than what we eat at our home. We do not face any kind of difficulty here. All the arrangements are of good quality.”
Phool Kumari, another beneficiary of the same centre, said, “My husband earns by running a cycle-rickshaw. We both come here for our daily meals. The quality of the meal is very good.
Raj Amrit, one of the beneficiaries at the NMCH centre, told the CM, “The quality of food is very good here. We are totally satisfied with the quality of food. Many many thanks to you for making such good arrangements for poor people.”
Earlier, the officers present at the centres, informed the CM in details about the various facilities available at their respective centres.
After concluding the virtual tour to the centres, Nitish said, “It is a matter of happiness that the beneficiaries taking meals at the community kitchen are satisfied with the quality of food and other arrangements.”
The CM asked the officials to ensure that no outsiders, other than people coming to take meals get entry inside the centre and make unnecessary crowds at such places.
